Gen2 YFZ450R/X Rear Tie Down Mounts Installation Guide


Fitment: 2009-2027 YFZ450R/X models

Most aftermarket Nerf Bars:
  1. Remove nerf bars per manufacturer instructions
  2. It is recommended to blow out the mounting holes in the frame with compressed air while the bolts are removed. The holes can get filled with dirt and debris while riding which can strip out the threads when threading in and tightening down new bolts
  3. Install rear tie down mounts and extended hardware onto pro pegs
  4. Torque all four mounting bolts to 56ft/lbs
  5. Re-install nerf bars per manufacturer instructions
  6. Some nerf bars may require filing or removing a small amount of material from the innermost netting tab for the nerf bars to fully slide onto the pro pegs and clear the heads of the pro peg mounting bolts

 

Rock, Alba and Tusk style Nerf Bars:
  1. Remove pro peg mounting bolts
  2. It is recommended to blow out the mounting holes in the frame with compressed air while the bolts are removed. The holes can get filled with dirt and debris while riding which can strip out the threads when threading in and tightening down new bolts
  3. Install rear tie down mounts and extended hardware onto pro pegs
  4. Torque all four mounting bolts to 56ft/lbs

 

Stock Foot pegs:
  1. Remove stock foot peg mounting bolts
  2. It is recommended to blow out the mounting holes in the frame with compressed air while the bolts are removed. The holes can get filled with dirt and debris while riding which can strip out the threads when threading in and tightening down new bolts
  3. Install rear tie down mounts and extended hardware onto foot pegs
  4. Torque all four mounting bolts to 56ft/lbs
